Affirmations will change your entire life! You have two choices about which direction your life will head in. You can either have negative affirmations that are limiting and will bring negative experiences into your life or you can say positive affirmations that will support you in creating positive experiences and bring positive people into your life.
So what is an affirmation?
Affirmations refer primarily to the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment—fostering a belief that, “a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything.” More specifically, an affirmation is a carefully formatted statement that should be repeated to one’s self and written down frequently. For an affirmation to be effective, it needs to be present tense, positive, personal and specific.
Write out a positive affirmation that will change your world. Think of a negative affirmation that you say a little too often and change it into a positive affirmation. When writing affirmations speak from present tense, so instead of saying, “I will never find a great man because I am not loveable” say, “I am so excited about meeting my future partner. I am loveable because I exist”. Another one may be, “I hate going to work, I really wish I could just stay in bed”, say, “my day at work will be amazing, I’m so ready for excitement!”. Your affirmation can be work related, or relationship related, whatever it is that you want to change into a positive.
Say words of love and acceptance to yourself. Your thoughts are creating the world around you, each thought that you think and every belief that you hold is creating those experiences and the people who come into your life.
Affirmations are incredible for changing your negative thought patterns. By replacing each negative thought with a loving thought you can literally change the course of your entire day. When you wake up in the morning you can either say, “oh my gosh, I so do not want to go to work today” or, “today is going to be incredible, I am really looking forward to it”. Just by choosing which thought you would like to plant in your mind will create the experiences of your day if you decide to continue down that thought pattern.
So in terms of finding a partner do you say things to yourself like “All the good ones are married already, I am too old to find a partner, I will be alone forever”. Instead say affirmations that support you in life and will attract positive people, for example, “The right man is available for me, I am deserving of a loving and fulfilling relationship”.
So today I want you to write on a piece of paper a positive affirmation that will change your life and put to bed the old negative thoughts. Hold up the piece of paper and take a ‘selfie’ then post it on my FB or Instagram. Don’t forget to follow me and tag your photo with #bloomforlove.
