Ok, so now it is time for me to get a little personal and to share some real-ness with you about how I’ve been feeling, because honestly….I KNOW THIS IS GOING TO HELP A LOT OF PEOPLE.
Do you wake up in the morning and feel dread wash over you at the thought of going to work? Being out in public or even just facing the day, period? Do you feel stuck inside a life that you know is dull and you realise just how unhappy you are? But the thought of doing anything about it drains you and makes you want to crawl back to bed?
Do you scroll through other people’s Instagram pages and envy their life and feel a wave of depression flood over you because you feel so stuck inside your life and maybe even stuck inside a body that you are not comfortable with.
Let me share my pity party story with you as of late….
Lately, I was feeling so stuck in a rut it’s not funny. I was working in a job that wasn’t fulfilling, every morning I would dread going to work and I would sing the “Thank God It’s Friday” song every week. I wasn’t feeling comfortable in my body due to excess weight gain, wasn’t earning enough and OMG I am single and cannot find a guy to go on a second date with let alone spend the rest of my life with (Insert eye roll emoji HERE!).
So, this constant draining saga – constant negative thinking is absolutely disempowering not to mention it can make you lose friends fairly quickly too *cough* that didn’t happen to me! I felt stuck, I felt as though this was going to be my life forever…and the worst feeling…. I WAS GIVING UP. I had lost my fight. My drive. My motivation and my belief in myself. For too long I was living in a negative head space about where I was in my life. Comparing myself to others. I felt defeated and I needed to shake things up big time! I NEEDED TO GET UNSTUCK before my parents arranged an embarrassing intervention.
How did I do this? I’m glad you asked!
The first thing for me getting unstuck was to get my health and fitness back on track. I needed to feel good within my body and I missed feeling strong! I started eating healthy foods to lift the food coma cloud from my mind. It’s amazing how much clarity and energy you gain from investing in wholesome foods.
I signed up to my local gym and committed to going 6 days per week. I started out doing the things that I loved and I was very gentle with myself in the beginning. So, I did virtual classes and I loved it. It was me, the bike and the “open virtual road”. I got that feeling of “WHY DID I STOP DOING THIS?!” and I became addicted again!
Then, I knew that I had to start investing in myself again and committed to listening to 1 audio book per week. This fed my soul and set my heart blazing again. This gave me the motivation and inspiration I needed to get back into the swing of my business. The place where my true passion lies and where my heart will always be drawn to. If I’m not in my business giving it my all, I feel like I am cheating my one life! Not a good feeling! I planned out my year and decided where I would take my business. Where things were working, where things weren’t working and I Hustled to create THE LIFE I WANTED TO WAKE UP FOR EACH DAY! I was slowly getting unstuck and I loved the feeling!
Then it was time for me to call in my business coach for further sessions.
I then got all my finances in order, got my tax done and with the return from my tax I invested my money and saved the rest. Check out my “How to start saving blog” for more inspiration. This feeling of having money set aside for emergencies feels amazing! It takes the feeling of fear away and I feel independent and empowered.
A job came up for Saturday work in a wedding company and I jumped at the idea. This meant that I could cut down my hours at work during the week and only work part-time, which meant freeing up a lot of time for my business.
The point here is to be proactive in creating your own life. Stop daydreaming about your “One Day” and “Someday” and take tiny little baby steps to change the things that need changing! Get to work. Figure out what it will take to get unstuck. Believe that you can achieve your goals and stop being so hard on yourself. You are only stuck because you are letting yourself BE stuck.
There is an entire world out there filled with endless, endless, endless possibilities. There is adventure, ideal jobs, amazing people and places to see. Focus on the things that need immediate change! When you are proactive you will feel amazing and these good vibes will allow more good things to come into your life.
