Today, I desperately want to share with you a topic that I have been learning and applying into my life now.
If you feel angry and upset about someone road raging you. If you’re left feeling sad and defeated by someone bullying you at work or if your blood boils after your partner or family member pushes your buttons, then you need to read this. Today we are talking about the importance of not letting people upset you or throw you off alignment.
Can you imagine being so joyful, grateful and serene that no-one or no situation (within reason) could knock you off your happy high horse? Yes, life would be pretty groovy.
Let’s talk about inner peace and creating a force within and surround you that cannot be shattered.
This world is hard! Let’s just take a breath to admit that….
I can remember being at an incredible venue in the Rocks, Sydney for New Year’s Eve. The night was filled with Salsa dancing, amazing Spanish food and a glass always filled with Sangria. Even though my friend and I had views of the Harbour Bridge we wanted to be underneath the Bridge to watch the midnight fireworks.
You’re probably thinking WOW…WOO HOOO…. Yeah just wait…..
As soon as we walked out of the venue there was a violent fight between 3 men. There was an ambulance further down the street assisting an intoxicated man and the general feeling was “Oh crap, am I about to be crash tackled by a drunk person?”.
This imagery can often portray this world! People fighting amongst each other when you are trying to have fun and remain in a peaceful state.
What better time to learn how to keep yourself centred and in a state of constant inner peace.
Prior to me learning these vital tools I would get so f#@*ing pissed at people road raging me, and bursting my happiness bubble. I would get just as ugly with people who were being ugly to me. I used to get so annoyed with humans always breaking my happy peaceful mood, couldn’t they see I was glowing with joy whilst sipping on my Soy Cappuccino? My attitude was always “How dare they!”
Then, I discovered the power of inner peace and how it is crucial each and every day to refuel our spirits with a powerhouse of positive emotions and calm.
So, what do I mean by this?
Meditation has been around for centuries to heal, clear people’s negative energy, create an inner state of calm, have responses to answers we were struggling with, and becoming our very own best-friend!
Over the years I have pumped my beautiful mind with positive affirmations, flooded my mind with kindness and loving thoughts about myself. Where I was lacking was in my thoughts about others. Having a Psychology background and also working with Paedophiles on a daily basis my perception of humans became negative. This didn’t allow inner peace to flow naturally in my life. Anytime I would have someone being hostile I would show hostility back which resulted in me feeling like crap for the rest of the day. Blah!
Meditation has taught me so much about myself and how forgiveness is my greatest challenge, but also my sweetest friend. I have sat in meditation clearing blocks and surrounding myself and others in light. I have spent my time in meditation clearing anger and releasing blocks that have built up over the years.
I’m Not Perfect BUT I’m Progressing!
It was only today that I saw how far I have truly come. So I was driving, sipping on my coffee and listening to Gabrielle Bernstein, then an incredibly hostile driver was sitting right up in my grill because I wasn’t driving as fast as he wanted me to drive. He was completely living in the Ego!
Previously this would have bothered me, my hands would have been shaking, I would have experienced butterflies in my stomach and my underarms would have been sweating. Instead I was in such a gorgeous state of calm from being in meditation that morning, practising EFT (more info about this below) and being kind with myself all morning. He eventually overtook me and I can assure you that he was the one feeling angry and gross whilst I was in a tranquil and serene state before, during and after he entered my vision.
There will be some days where you will fall, but that is just apart of life. What matters most is how you respond and how quickly you return back to your centre.
What To Do Throughout The Day…
If you feel put off balance throughout the day you can try these simple and effective tools to bring you instantly back to alignment.
If you’re the victim of road rage:
- Scream in the car. This instantly allows you to release tension and come back home to your divine centre quickly. I also like pulling my car over the second I feel some bullying me. They then are removed from my gorgeous energy and they go on hating the world and feeling angry and gross while I remain looking and feeling unreal! 😉
Experiencing a difficult person or situation:
- If you haven’t tried or heard of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) you MUST try it. It allows you to feel what you’re feeling by bridging emotions to the surface whilst tapping on pressure points to eliminate these negative feelings.
Check out EFT on YouTube and bring it into you daily routine.
You’ve Got This!
You’re always in control of your life sweet friend. You will face many obstacles, many situations that make you feel off. BUT, the great news is….these things do not need to bother you!
Reconnect with your divine self each and everyday and you will be more inclined to respond with love and peace.
If you experience a difficult situation, choose to release your anger in the moment and get on with rocking out your cool attitude with the world!
