Last week I created a beautiful blog called “How to Get Unstuck“, I really enjoyed the attention this post got and I realised that we need to dive into this subject a little more.
I want to clearly outline the specifics on how you can propel yourself into each day with energy and passion. I also want you to learn how to create each day to be filled with happiness, so that when you reluctantly close your eyes to sleep at the end of the day you will drift off to sleep with a content, peaceful and quiet smile on your face! Ahhhhh, doesn’t that sound better than any tub of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream!
For toooooo longgggg I was living a very bleak life, I’m embarrassed to say that when I would wake up in the morning I couldn’t way for the day to be over so that I could come back to bed that evening. My bed and being hidden in the covers was my opinion of fun.
The truly scary part was that I felt like I had given up and that I was just settling in life. I was settling with being uncomfortable every minute of the day, I was settling for the fact that I was addicted to junk food. I was settling with the notion that I was working in job that wasn’t inline with my spirit or my life’s purpose. I had lost my drive and sadly my fight and I was so unhappy.
What causes unhappiness?
+ Not being proactive in making positive change
+ Having no clarity on what you want your life to look like
+ Surrounding yourself with particular friends or family who make you feel miserable
+ Living in the past and being filled with “What if” and regret
+ Being a negative nancy and constantly complaining
+ Eating unhealthy
+ Not exercising
+ Comparing yourself to others
Just to name a few
So how can we change this pattern and start being excited about our day and feeling reluctant to go to bed because our days are filled with goodness?….Read on bloom babe!
The most vital part of the day!
Every single day is a fresh start. You can be who you want to be.
You can take one tiny step towards living your dream life and most importantly….YOU CAN CHOOSE HAPPINESS for yourself!
Want to know how to instantly be happy and for negativity to wash away from your mind, body and spirit? BE GRATEFUL….It is impossible for you to feel anything but joy and appreciation when you are feeling how grateful you are.
So, how do you do this?
When you FIRST open your eyes in the morning start rattling off and FEELING how grateful you are for:
+ Your Bed
+ Your blanket to keep you warm
+ Your partner
+ The breakfast waiting for you in the fridge
+ The clean, hot water that awaits you for a shower.
Continue listing all the miracles in your mind and be sure to FEEL deep gratitude. By doing this before your tootsie’s even touch your plush rug you FEEL alive, awakened and READY for the day because you’re BURSTING with gratitude!
Meditate, Meditate, Meditate!
I cannot tell you what the countless research has proven about the positive effects meditation will bring into your life, however, what I can tell you is how it has changed my life!
Each day I dedicate time to meditation, this is usually done before bed with candles flickering. I do this because it sets the tone for my dreams, how I will sleep, allows me to let go of the negative experiences I may have encountered that day and it brings me sweet inner peace.
Meditation allows your cells to come alive, your skin to glow and meditation will change your life. You can release fear, awaken your authentic self and become confident. Start with just 5 minutes a day. I love listening to guided meditations from “The Honest Guys” on Youtube. If you’re new to meditation then guided meditations are the way to go because they teach you how to breath, relax and focus on your intention.
Starting my day with exercise invigorates me, makes me feel confident, provides clarity and allows me to make positive choices with my nutrition. When I stopped going to the gym for a couple of years I felt fatigued and tired throughout the day which made me always reach for the junk food. I gained weight, lost my tone in my body and as a result I spiralled into a very dark place of feeling uncomfortable, unattractive and developed an unhealthy body image of myself.
I felt unattractive and would walk my way through life praying that no-one I knew saw me in my track pants at the shops with a basket full of junk food.
The real crusher that a lack of exercise gave me was looking in the mirror and seeing how unhealthy my skin looked. Two years prior my skin was glowing, the whites of my eyes were clear and my blue pupils were shinning. Even just writing this takes me back to a very sad version of myself and my heart breaks.
I now choose to go to bed early (between 8:30 – 9:30pm). I lay out my gym gear for the following morning and set my alarm for 4:30am. I hit the gym for 1 hour and push my body to a new fitness level. I sweat, I grunt and I LOVE IT! I then come home and take my dog, Charlotte for an hour walk. During my walk I am listening to an audiobook, ted talk or simply being grateful.
Bearing in mind that I worked up to this level of fitness and I still am not at my ideal fitness level or weight. It took me several months to reach this place of wanting to go to the gym and then walk Charlotte for 1 hour. Be kind and gentle with yourself as you begin taking the first couple of steps towards exercising daily.

Change Your Life!
If you’re dreading going to your job CHANGE IT…dedicate yourself to taking one step towards a career/job that will make you light up each day! You might just start looking online for what jobs are out there. You may take a night or weekend class to learn a new skill. Get clear on what it is that you desire.
You may want to go through the weekend paper and circle each job that excites you and you can gain some clarity on what your dream job may be. Then, research what that job involves and if it is inline with what you would like to do.
Don’t be scared of change! Embrace that when you commit to something it isn’t what you thought it would be. But, GUESS WHAT…you can change again! I worked my ass off to get into the University of Sydney to study Vet Science when I was 29 years old. I got in and realised shortly after that it wasn’t for me. I put a brave smile on and attempted again to discover what my true passion is.
If you want to work in your business full-time then dedicate your evenings and your weekends to investing in your business. Come home from your job, have dinner, tidy up then get to work. “Getting to work” doesn’t have to be a chore, you can light some candles, have some tea, have beautiful music playing in the background and lose yourself in your passion.
You get to decide how your life is and how you feel in your life each day! Start choosing happiness each day and bring some new flavour and drive into your life. Gain the clarity you need to go after your dreams by investing back into your body. Start everything out small, take little steps towards your exercise, food intake and your career.
Life is moving by quickly, so jump on board. Stop waiting for the right time. Stop waiting “until”. Stop saying that one day you will have your dream job, your ideal weight, perfect health, buy organic produce. Start now, don’t wait any longer. Start small and be consistent because that is where your results lie in your daily consistent habits.
You CAN DO THIS! You can achieve anything you set your mind to. START INVESTING IN YOURSELF!
Let the universe say “Damn I’m glad I gave that precious gift of life to that chick…she is kicking ass! I can’t wait to see what else she’s got up her sleeve!”.
